Known Issue & Workaround (Ver. 7.5.1)
| Problem 1 |
With Illustrator CS5 or earlier, when you set the "Roland Grapac Bri-o-coat Library", "Roland Metallic Texture System Library", and "Roland Texture System Library" of the swatch libraries to "Persistent", the illustrator cannot be restarted. |
| Workaround: |
Do not set the swatches to "Persistent". If the illustrator cannot be restarted, delete the ai file containing the swatches. |
| Problem 2 |
The composed TIFF job is not processed correctly if [Mirror] in [Layout] tab is checked. |
| Workaround: |
Use a TIFF data with the image being reversed beforehand. |
| Problem 3 |
Large progressive JPEG files may not be able to be added to the Job List. |
| Workaround: |
Save the file again selecting [Baseline (Standard)] or [Baseline Optimized]. |
| Problem 4 |
When a cutting line is created by Illustrator, the cutting line cannot be recognized if [Align Stroke] is set to [Align Stroke to Inside] or [Align Stroke to Outside]. |
| Workaround: |
Set [Align Stroke] to [Align Stroke to Center]. |
| Problem 5 |
WIth machines that can use Or/Gr ink, if a spot color named [Orange] or [Green] is created in [Edit] > [Spot Color Settings], VersaWorks will not recognize [Orange] or [Green] spot colors. |
| Workaround: |
Do not use spot color name, [Orange] / [Green]. Use [ORANGE] or [orange] . (You can use spot color names with all capitals or all small letters.) |
| Problem 6 |
Embedded profile of EPS file created in Adobe Illustrator is not applied to VersaWorks 7. |
| Workaround: |
Embed the profile in other applications such as Adobe Photoshop. |
| Problem 7 |
Job Group cannot be added to cutting machines by drag and drop. |
| Workaround: |
Cancel Job Group and drag and drop each job file independently to cutting machine. Then group those jobs again. |
| Problem 8 |
When data containing RGB format objects are imported, the following problem may occur if [MAX Impact] is set in [Job Settings] > [Quality] > [Color Managemant].
- Colors are printed faintly in the area that RGB (255, 255, 255) color is specified.
- When [Generate Special Color Plate] is applied in [Job Settings] screen > [Special Color] > [Special Color Generation], special color is output in the area where RGB(255, 255, 255) color is specified. |
| Workaround: |
Perform one of the following.
- Edit the original image file to remove RGB (255, 255, 255) objects.
- In the [Job Settings] > [Quality] > [Color Management] > [Preset] > [MAX Impact] > [Advanced] screen, change [Simulate Target Profiles] > [RGB] to [Roland_DG_SignRGB_v2.icc]. |
| Problem 9 |
[Windows only] When printing from a Mac using a Windows PC as a print server, printing fails if the print server's OS is Windows 11 22H2 or later.(Windows only) |
| Workaround: |
Perform the following.
1) On a Windows PC, search for "gpedit.msc" and open [Edit Group Policy].
2) From the directory tree, select [Computer Configuration] > [Administrative Templates] > [Printers].
3) Select [Configure RPC Listener Settings] > [Configure Policies].
4) Change to [Enabled] (default is [Unconfigured])
5) Change protocol to [RCP via named pipe and TCP]. |
| Problem 10 |
[Mac only] When a virtual printer is installed on VersaWorks 7 and printing is started from a drawing software, the printing may not proceed normally. |
| Workaround: |
Please restart the Mac. |
| Problem 11 |
[Mac only] After restarting or reinstalling/updating VersaWorks, the machine may not be able to communicate. |
| Workaround: |
First, please open System Settings from the Apple menu. Then, click Privacy & Security in the sidebar. Next, navigate to the Local Network menu, and toggle the 'VersaWorks 7' button off and then back on. |
